The Brief

The client — a private homeowner in Singapore — was completing a contemporary residence with a soft, organic aesthetic. The architecture featured curved walls, natural stone flooring, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a tropical garden. The design called for lighting that echoed the garden outside — delicate, botanical, and serene.

The designer‘s vision: a collection of white glass flowers — suspended, mounted, and standing — as if the garden had bloomed indoors. But the designer also requested something more: tactile warmth. The metalwork needed to feel handcrafted — not machined, not polished to a sterile shine, but textured, organic, alive.

Standard chandelier light fixture, pendant light, wall light, and table lamp options from existing catalogues could not achieve this level of organic form, material purity, or hand-finished metal texture. The project demanded a fully custom, handcrafted solution — every petal made by hand, every metal surface forged and textured by our master metalworkers.

Our Solution

Solus Lumi collaborated with the lighting designer and the Singapore architecture team to create a cohesive floral lighting narrative across three fixture types — each custom-designed, each handcrafted, each combining hand-blown white glass flowers with hand-forged, hand-textured copper hardware.
